Architectural Sankul, an organisation which works for social awareness towards ‘Heritage’ conducted yet another Heritage walk at Telankhedi Kalyaneshwar Shiv Mandir and Telankhedi Garden on 7th October 2018. More than 125 persons of varied age participated to know the rich history of these places.
Architect Madhura Rathod and Architect Nitika Ramani directed the walk with brief history of Bhosala period and their contribution in developing beautiful architectural spaces in Nagpur. They explained the concept of temple designing, the spaces in and around the structure that takes the visitor from outer materialistic world to experience the inner peace. The use of materials, scale and proportion, iconography, shikara style, pattern, sculptures, landscaping etc explicitly at the temple.
At the ‘Manyabapu Uddyan’ better known as Telankhedi Garden- the Mughal style of designing, reason for its establishment, its use from historic to present day, types of trees, pushkarni, palace, age-old well etc were excitingly explored to experience the untold story of this historical place.
Architectural Sankul thank its team, felicitated the dignitaries who had joined the walk from places like Ahmedabad, Chandrapur, Ramtek, Gondia,nearby areas and INTACH convenor Nagpur Chapter Mr. Kishor Divekar who sponsored the heritage cap to all its participants.
