Architectural Sankul in association with Archeological Survey of India Maharashtra Circle had organized a Heritage Visit to the old High Court on Saturday, 22nd September 2018. More than 60 persons from Nagpur and nearby places like Wardha, Chandrapur, Yavatmal, Ramtek participated in the heritage walk inspite of the rain at this weekend day.
Old High Court is the National Heritage Monument. It is the centrally protected monument and ASI is conserving, preserving, restoring, and developing the building the building as Tourist Destination Monument.
Architect Madhura Rathod and Architect Nitika Ramani from Architectural Sankul conducted the Heritage walk by explicitly describing the history, important characteristics features of this structure, and the required attention for conservation. Dr. Hashmi and Mr. Milind Angaitkar along with Dr. Shilpa Rangari explained in detail about the documentation of the structure done in detail and also explained the conservation plan.
This heritage walk helped Nagpurians to know more about the Old High Court and its historical importance for existing right at the centre of the city.
The overwhelming response and feedback from the participants encourages Architectural Sankul to keep on organizing such heritage visits and walks so as to bring awareness in the society about Nagpur’s rich heritage.
