INTACH HERITAGE CLUB INSTALLATION AT CENTRE POINT SCHOOL, WARDHAMAN NAGAR, NAGPUR
On 27-09-2019, INTACH HERITAGE CLUB was installed at CENTRE POINT SCHOOL, Wardhaman nagar, Nagpur. Dr. Madhura Rathod (Co-Convenor, INTACH Nagpur Chapter) and Ar. Nitika Ramani (Executive Committee Member, INTACH Nagpur Chapter) were the guests invited for the occasion.
Establishing Heritage Club in Schools of Nagpur is the joint venture of INTACH Nagpur Chapter and Architectural Sankul, Nagpur. Till date 8 Schools have successfully established these clubs.
The Centre Point School, Vice-Principal, Mrs Deepa Chakraborty along with the two heritage club incharge teachers- Mr. Sameer Sonekar & Mrs Nisreen Sabir arranged this program on the occasion of World Tourism Day. The intention was to encourage young students to be aware about rich Indian Heritage.
The guests were welcomed by the Principal with beautiful saplings.
Ar. Nitika Ramani addressed the students and motivated them to know that being the bright, young citizens’ of tomorrow’s India they hold the responsibility to take care of the past for the future. Various issues like conservation, preservation and restoration of both tangible and intangible heritage of India are the need of the time – said Ar. Ramani.
Students were appreciated by distributing Heritage Passports and badges.
Students actively interacted with the guests and showed their enthusiasm to contribute by writing articles, poems, sketching, painting and film making. They presented a skit on the theme of Tourism and Heritage.
INTACH Nagpur Chapter has promised the schools to help in all possible ways to keep the mission going.
The program concluded with the pledge and national anthem.
